Health benefits of September fruit

Hot summer days have already passed and Ukrainian markets are still full of local fruits in autumn. September brings a harvest of organic apples, grapes, pears and nectarines grown by local farmers.
Delicious apples are a powerful source of vitamin C, B-complex vitamins, antioxidants and dietary fiber. There are more than 10 benefits of eating an apple a day. Apples help reduce the risk of developing diabetes, all sorts of cancers, hypertension and heart diseases. Apples lower the level of bad cholesterol, fortify our immune system and maintain our nervous system in good health. These fruits protect against Parkinson’s and help to avoid Alzheimer’s.

Juicy grapes are at the peak in September in Ukraine. They contain flavonoids, known as powerful antioxidants, vitamins K, B6, C and essential minerals. Grapes help cure asthma and migraine, lower risk of kidney disease, prevent breast cancer. As well as apples, grapes boost immune system and lower cholesterol. Grapes also improve brain function and strengthen bones.

Organic nectarines are a great source of beta-carotene, vitamin A, minerals and antioxidants.  They contain a high percentage of vitamin C. Nectarines prevent cancer, improve blood pressure, help to lose weight and strengthen immune system.
